Kardanwellen unterscheiden sich deutlich von Ketten- oder Riemengetrieben. Ein Unterschied ist die Verbindung der Welle mit dem Getriebe und dem Hinterrad. Anstelle von Zahnrädern verwendet Kawasaki KVF 300 hier Verbindungsstücke, die Antriebskreuze verwenden. Äußerst robust, widerstandsfähig gegen hohe und heftige Kräfte, können Antriebskreuze sogar ein ganzes Fahrzeugleben lang halten. Das ist aber nur möglich, wenn Sie den Antriebsquerträger richtig pflegen. Das Kawasaki KVF 300 erfordert hier sowohl eine fachgerechte Montage und einen Schutz als auch eine Schmierung und regelmäßige Reinigung des Querträgers. Andernfalls kommt es zu Spiel im Gelenk und damit zu Vibrationen und gezieltem Klappern, was den Antriebswellenquerträger zum Austausch qualifiziert.
