Mit ihnen überträgt der Kipphebel die Bewegung der Achse auf die Ventile und lässt den Motor ruhig laufen. Neben den Abmessungen und der Qualität ist zu beachten, dass der Kipphebelsockel auch korrekt in das System eingebaut und eingestellt werden muss. Ist dies nicht der Fall oder ist der Kipphebelsockel beschädigt, kann BMW F 850 GS einen schweren Motorschaden oder zumindest einen Ausfall des Ventiltriebs erleiden.
