Die verschiedenen Ventiltypen unterscheiden sich zwar nicht in ihrer Konstruktion, aber ihre Funktion erzwingt einige Unterschiede. Theoretisch sind die Einlassventile weniger anfällig für verschiedene Störungen. [Sie dienen dazu, Luft oder Gemisch in den Zylinder zu leiten, wodurch die Einlassventile des Motors effizient gekühlt werden. Allerdings gibt es immer noch das Problem des Einbaus, der Einstellung und auch der Sauberkeit des Ventils. Falsche Positionierung oder Verkohlung sowie Verschleiß oder Beschädigung des Einlassventils können den Motorbetrieb stark beeinträchtigen. Deshalb fordert Polaris Xplorer 400 hier eine regelmäßige Überprüfung der Position und Funktion der Ventile und bei Beschädigung den sofortigen Austausch der Bauteile.
